Tuesday, January 26, 2021 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM · 44 min. (Africa/Abidjan)
Concurrent Session 2.1

Information

Grid integration of renewable energy has implications for equipment operators within every area of our power system. There are significant implications with the provision of energy, capacity and ancillary services to the grid. There is also responsibility to offer reliability and flexibility in a rapidly changing system, while reducing overall rate payer impact. In this discussion, four individual perspectives with a variety of roles in the sector ask the question, "what's in it for me?" What are the advantages of participating in the complexity of grid operations? Why is it important now and what do operators need to be thinking about in the coming years? This session goes light on the formalities and heavy on the honesty of what the operators within IPPs, municipalities, solutions providers and ultimately grid balancing have to gain from increased integration of renewable energy.
